3 yr olds
Thank you for your inquiry about our Three-Year-Old class. We hope this description will answer any questions you may have about our program.
We will be offering two morning sessions of the three year old program. One of the sessions will be for two days, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 – 11:30. The other morning session will be held for three days, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:00 – 11:30. Each session is limited to 12 children. We ask that your child be three years old by September 1 of the year in which they are enrolled. All classes begin the week after Labor Day and end the week prior to Memorial Day.
The primary objectives of the Three-Year-Old class is to help each child develop a good self-image, give repeated opportunities to discover and explore, to challenge and problem solve. The children are given diverse choices that can lead to independence, self-control, self-confidence and a sense of responsibility. Our program provides a rich environment that considers each child’s total development, individual needs and interests.
Each day will include arts and crafts, singing and rhythm activities, finger plays, dramatic play, stories, games, physical development activities and readiness experiences. During playtime, the children will learn to interact with each other, solve their own problems and acquire socially acceptable behavior through cooperation and sharing. Emphasis is placed on encouraging children to be aware of the feelings and rights of others. Age appropriate academics will also be introduced.
Throughout the year, our program will include science and social living lessons involving self-awareness, seasons, holidays, animals, plants, health and safety. Our program will be supplemented by visits from resource persons.
We feel that your child will enjoy playing, learning and growing with us throughout this busy and fun filled year.
