Rev. Bill King
Pastor Bill began serving as interim pastor for First Presbyterian Church of Murrysville in November 2015, and enjoys helping congregations prepare the way for calling a new, long-term pastor. Over the past 20 years, he has served twelve interim pastorates throughout Western Pennsylvania. He lives in Cowansville where his wife Mary has been the pastor of Union First Presbyterian Church since 1979.
A graduate of Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Pastor Bill briefly pursued post-graduate work at the University of Pittsburgh. His undergraduate degree is in electrical engineering from Bucknell University. After college, he worked for awhile at a government research lab near Washington, D.C. On a personal note, he has a passion for HO trains with the grandchildren, music, computers, and astronomy.
Music Director and Organist
Ruth Poscich, a member of First Presbyterian Church, has been Director of Music and Organist since September 2001. She plays organ and piano for the Sunday morning services, directs the Chancel Choir and the Joy Ringers handbell choir, and leads the children in music each Sunday at the beginning of the Sunday School session and on special occasions. Ruth graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Church Music and Organ from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey and has been a lifelong church musician. Additionally, she has an Associate Degree in stenographic machine court reporting from the former Duff's Business Institute in Pittsburgh and is employed as an official court reporter and judicial secretary for the Court of Common Pleas of Fayette County in Uniontown.
Lori has been the Administrative Assistant since August 2013. She offers assistance to the Interim Pastor, as well as the various Church committees. She enjoys her daily interaction with members of the church, as well as members of the community.
Lori is a native of Southern California, and moved to Pennsylvania 17 years ago. She resides in Murrysville with her husband and two daughters. She is active in the community as a volunteer at her church and the Franklin Regional School District.
Child/nursery care is available for both services.
